The Evening

Doncaster Chamber's Directors' Dinners, welcome together the region’s most influential business leaders for an evening of collaboration, insight, and opportunity. This exclusive event offers a unique chance to be part of a dynamic in-conversation panel, where top industry experts share their experiences, challenges, and vision for the future. As you enjoy a refined two-course dinner, you’ll also have the opportunity to engage with fellow senior business leaders.

The Conversation

True leadership shows up under pressure. It’s not about ease. It’s about rising to challenges, adapting, and guiding others through uncertainty.

Join us for Leadership: Rising to the Challenge, an evening highlighting leaders who act with courage, clarity, and resilience when the stakes are high. Two business leaders will share their experiences navigating crises, leading change, and supporting their teams, and how integrity and vision shape both results and the people around them.

The Panellists

Virginia Perkins
CEO - Hesley Group

With a career spanning 30 years of multifaceted experience across health, social care and education, Virginia holds a deep commitment to fostering supportive high-performing environments. Dedicating much of her career to enhancing organisational culture and business performance, whilst making a difference to the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in the UK, has been her privilege.

Investing her earlier years to international charitable work and the public sector, this experience shaped an understanding of the unique challenges faced in educational and social   care settings and helped develop a passion for making a positive impact in the lives of vulnerable children, young people and adults with varied support needs.

Virginia's academic   studies have been instrumental in enabling the achievement of a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management, bolstering understanding of organisational and people   development, a sector that understands the importance of investing in these crucial areas to drive overall success. Joining the Hesley Group has been a strategic move that allows   Virginia to leverage the full range of skills acquired throughout her career, providing a strong foundation to drive impactful contributions and further growth of services for the people they support.

Mark Flanagan
Director - CFP Group
Mark began his career in High Street Banking, where he spent many years building experience across the sector and ultimately held the role of Director of Business Development with RBS/NatWest. While he enjoyed a successful banking career, Mark felt drawn to a more hands-on, entrepreneurial environment and made the decision to step away from corporate banking to explore the world of specialist finance and broking.

In 2016, Mark began trading under a master FCA registration, and in 2020 he went on to co-found Commercial Finance Partnership Ltd with Matt Hawcroft. As a directly authorised FCA firm, the business grew quickly, driven by a clear focus on relationships, practical solutions and doing what’s right for clients.

Today, the firm supports clients across a wide range of finance solutions, including:
  • Property Finance – residential and commercial investment, development finance and bridging
  • Business Finance – asset finance, invoice finance, trade finance and cashflow support
  • Regulated Finance – including personal vehicle finance through the Drive Finance brand
  • Regulated Mortgage – expert mortgage and protection advice including bridging and capital raising.

In April 2024, the business took an exciting next step with the acquisition of a regulated mortgage firm. This was fully integrated into the group and marked the rebrand to CFP Group. Since then, the group has continued to grow, welcoming new team members and expanding its offering — all while maintaining a personal, client-focused approach at the heart of everything it does.
