Description

Help shape the future of clean energy skills in South Yorkshire.
South Yorkshire’s clean energy sector is central to the region’s transition to net zero — but the skills system isn’t yet aligned with the pace of innovation and growth. Employers are facing real challenges in recruiting talent with the right technical, digital, and green skills.

This session is your opportunity to change that.

We’re inviting leading businesses, universities, colleges, and training providers to join a new Workforce Development Partnership focused on Clean Energy Industries — part of the next phase of South Yorkshire’s Local Skills Improvement Plan.

What are Clean Energy Industries?

Clean Energy Industries include the technologies, infrastructure, and services driving the UK’s low-carbon transition. In South Yorkshire, this includes:

  • Renewable energy generation (solar, wind, bioenergy)
  • Energy storage and smart grid technologies
  • Low-carbon construction and retrofit
  • Electric vehicles and charging infrastructure
  • Hydrogen production and applications
  • Carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS)
These sectors are vital to achieving net zero — and they need a workforce equipped to deliver.
