Cast, Doncaster’s flagship theatre, has launched its brand-new website - designed and delivered by cultural digital specialists Supercool – with accessibility, inclusion, and sustainability at the forefront.
The new site offers audiences a smoother, more welcoming digital experience, with clear navigation, accessible design features, and engaging content that reflects Cast’s mission to open the arts to everyone.
But this launch is about more than technology. In line with Supercool’s Sustainability Action Plan, every new website project contributes directly to environmental action. For Cast, this means a donation to the National Trust’s Plant a Tree scheme, offsetting more than the carbon footprint of the project. Six trees have been planted on Cast’s behalf – double the number required to offset the emissions generated during the site’s development.
Deborah Rees, Director at Cast, said,
“Our new website is designed to welcome everyone – but it also represents our values. Accessibility, inclusion, and sustainability are central to Cast’s mission, and this partnership with Supercool ensures our digital presence reflects that. We’re proud that every click on our site is part of a bigger story: one that connects audiences to the arts while helping protect the environment.”
Supercool’s Strategy Director, Kate Mroczkowski, added:
“We believe cultural organisations can lead the way in digital sustainability. Cast’s new site is a brilliant example of how accessible design and environmental responsibility can go hand-in-hand.”
The launch marks another step in Cast’s journey to champion inclusive arts and community engagement, while contributing to a greener future.
