Doncaster business community asked to vote for one of its own!
The CEO of a leading Doncaster property development firm has been shortlisted for a prestigious regional award.
Tariq Shah OBE, CEO of Vigo Group, is up for Property Personality of the Year at the South Yorkshire Insider Property Awards.
This award is voted for by peers and the business community so a call for Doncaster votes to support Tariq is underway!
Tariq is a Doncaster born businessman and philanthropist who plays a key role in the highly successful third-generation family business Vigo Group which has operations throughout Yorkshire and London. He joined Vigo Group in 2006 on graduating from the University of Birmingham (BSc Economics and Politics). Tariq has a keen sense of place and dedicates time to improving the areas in which the business operates, this has included chairing the City Board in Doncaster and being a board member on the Doncaster City status bid board that successfully pitched for the town to become a city in 2022.
Tariq balances commercial expertise with a social benefit focused approach to each sector. He gives his time and knowledge to support a number of charities, which have included the Prince’s Trust, the Sleep Charity, and was a founding Board Member of HM The King’s Mosaic and AHS Foundation.
The built environment is being transformed all around South Yorkshire and these Property Awards recognise some of the outstanding developments that are reshaping the region.
Businesses are increasingly being drawn to South Yorkshire and the awards and keynote speakers will celebrate how the property sector is providing buildings that people are flocking to live and work in.
Property Personality of the year is for the person who has had the biggest personal impact on the property sector in the region, with particular emphasis on their achievements and contributions within the qualifying period, but considering their achievements throughout their career.
Tariq said: “I am honoured to be shortlisted for this award amongst some really strong competition from peers across the South Yorkshire region. It should be a great event and I am looking forward to being part of this celebration of South Yorkshire and all those that work so hard in the property industry.”
The winners will be revealed at what is South Yorkshire's biggest networking dinner within the property industry which is held at Sheffield City Hall on Thursday 11 July.
