Lakeside Village Outlet Shopping has received two accolades at the 2026 Loo of the Year Awards.
The outlet shopping centre, on White Rose Way in Doncaster, was presented with Platinum Plus accreditation for its Changing Places facilities and a Diamond award for the overall quality of the centre’s toilets.
Lyndsey Parry, centre manager at Lakeside Village, said: “The quality of our toilet facilities really matters to us as a centre. We pride ourselves on ensuring they’re clean and accessible for all of our customers, with baby changing facilities and Changing Places available, so to be presented with both Platinum Plus and Diamond accreditation at this year’s Loo of the Year Awards means a lot.
“Our cleaning team, supplied and managed by Atlas Retail, plays an integral part in ensuring the toilets are up to scratch and so this is testimony to their hard work, as well as our commitment as a centre to provide facilities for both parents and those unable to use a regular toilet, too.”
Owned and run independently, the Loo of the Year Awards were launched in 1987 to recognise the need for ‘away from home’ washrooms to have the highest levels in accessibility, hygiene, repair, and facilities.
All entries receive a grading: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Platinum Plus or Diamond following an unannounced visit by a fully trained and authorised Loo of the Year Awards inspector.
The Awards are now established as the benchmark of washroom provision and compliance with national standards. Each entry is assessed against established judging criteria, covering both male and female facilities, as well as any baby changing, accessible, Changing Places, Space to Change or Hygiene Room facilities.
