New Pet Boutique Opens in Doncaster

A new Pet Boutique, named Maggie May's, has just opened in Doncaster, where it can be found situated in the Yorkshire Hive.

About her new business, owner Julya Carling-Taylor said: "We hope to bring something a little different for your everyday adventures, combining unique and noteworthy designs with the essential need for practicality. Fabulously fun, stylish and practical accessories for you and your pets.

"From the very start of our journey, our ethos has been to select the very best products from independent businesses and give them the opportunity to work with us and have their handmade pet products in our boutique.

"That's when our journey, to create a Pet Boutique that offers you an opportunity to buy something a little different for your pet, began. We strongly believe that you should be able to buy individual, unique handmade items rather than mass produced."

Describing her own journey as an entrepreneur, Julya added: "For 25 years, I was employed as a Civil Servant at Doncaster Magistrate Court and for many years I enjoyed my job but in the later years, I was struggling to cope with my day-to-day roles due to the menopause.

"Changes had to be made so a decision was made in 2019 to enroll on a dog grooming course to enable me to set up my own business and work from home. Then Covid-19 hit us all and my plans had to go on hold. But in June 2020 I finally finished my course and qualified.

"So after 25 years, I made the jump and I haven't looked back since. The name Maggie May’s came from our oldest pet Maggie May. She is a 10 year old working cocker spaniel. We also have 2 other cocker spaniels Fergie and Dottie, and a fox red labrador, Twiggie.

"The Pet Boutique started in April 2022 by accident but the opportunity to become part of a new adventure could not be dismissed. So then Maggie May's Pet Boutique began."
