Andrew Isaacs Law to Host Exhibition for Local Oil Painter

On Thursday, 23rd February, Andrew Isaacs Law, Divorce & Family Law Specialists will be hosting an Art Exhibition in support of local oil painter Andrew Farmer ROI. 
 
Born in South Yorkshire, Andrew studied Fine Art Painting at the University of Canterbury Christ Church (2005-2008) achieving a First Class Honours, followed by a postgraduate at the Royal Drawing School in London. Since first exhibiting with the Royal Institute of Oil Painters in 2014, Andrew has gone on to claim 1st and 2nd Prize in the Winsor and Newton Awards for Painting, and in 2019 also won the Menena Joy Schabe Memorial Award as well. 
 
Describing his process, Andrew said: “I love to paint the ordinary, analysying simple subjects that will encourage the viewer to look more closely at the many wonderful and beautiful things surrounding us daily.”

To showcase Farmer's work, Andrew Isaacs Law will be hosting an exhibition titled "Collections" in February. 
 
Speaking about this, the artist continued: “This large body of work includes paintings and drawings created within the time frame of 2 years. From gestural and light filled landscape paintings created directly outdoors, to intimate still life paintings inspired by the various seasons. 
 
"My formal training in Fine Art started here in South Yorkshire, followed by a BA in Fine Art Painting at Canterbury Christ Church University. It was during my years at Canterbury, taught by incredible teachers and practicing artists that I really started to explore the highly versatile medium of oil paint and the traditional craft of painting. 
 
"I then attended the Royal Drawing School, London, and was awarded the Richard Ford Award for drawing and offered a chance to study works in personal at the Prado Museum, Madrid. 
My formal education was centred around the acting of painting, drawing and sculpting from direct observation. This way of working and translating the world around me is the thing that fuels my work, creating drawings and paintings which explore light, colour, form and space. 
 
"Much of my work is inspired by the changing seasons. From the fertile fields of Spring to the snow covered countryside in Winter. Rain or shine, I can often be found in the surrounding area at my easel capturing a particular light or weather effect.
 
"This first exhibition is selected to showcase and celebrate the scale and breadth of my portfolio and artistic interests, although future exhibitions will focus on a single theme”
