20 years of Community Magazines

Local Community Magazine Business ‘Today Publications’ is currently celebrating 20 years in business.

Founder Paula Thomas set about creating the first issue of Tickhill Today soon after returning to live in Tickhill with her young family early in 2005.  The first issue was delivered to homes late February of that year, and Today Publications has gone from strength to strength ever since, with 4 further magazine titles supporting different communities in East and South Doncaster, reaching over 26,000 homes.

Last week Paula threw a party to celebrate her 20 year milestone, inviting friends and family, advertisers, community contributors and readers alike.  Asking them to consider bringing a charity donation along with them proved incredibly successful with both Baby Basics and Mayflower Animal Sanctuary being the lucky recipients of many kind donations and Tickhill & District Lions the beneficiaries of cash donations on the night.

Paula plans to support many more charities throughout 2025.  Well over 100 charities and community groups already benefit from promotion within the pages of the magazines, but Paula intends to provide additional support to 20 of them through volunteering, fundraising or collections, to mark her 20 year anniversary.

Paula said “It has been a privilege to work with so many fantastic local businesses over the last 20 years, and to support so many groups, clubs, organisations and charities. Long may it continue!”
